Hands-on cloud-native development with Java & Quarkus on Kubernetes

Uni Systems

Containers are everywhere nowadays! This workshop will be a hands-on experience that will provide participants with a basic understanding of building cloud-native applications using Java and Quarkus on Kubernetes. We will start with an introduction to cloud-native applications, including the benefits of cloud-native development, and an overview of the technologies used in the workshop, namely Java, Quarkus, and Kubernetes.
Participants will then learn how to set up their development environment with the necessary software and tools. They will also learn how to create a simple Java-based application using the Quarkus framework, containerize it using Docker and eventually deploy it to Kubernetes. Throughout the workshop, participants will be encouraged to ask questions and collaborate with their peers. The instructors will provide hands-on guidance and support as participants work through the labs included in the workshop.
The workshop is sponsored by Red Hat, providing us with the necessary Cloud infrastructure for hosting and running the respective labs.
