Dr. Periklis Chatzimisios studied Information Engineering at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (TEI), continued his studies with a scholarship at the University of Bournemouth (England) and was awarded doctoral degree in 2005 with "Excellent" mark. Today, he serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Research Laboratory of Computer Systems, Security and Networking Systems at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. Since 2016 he is Visiting Fellow at the Bournemouth University s Faculty of Science and Technology. He participates as a researcher and scientific officer in European and national research and development projects. In the past, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation. For more than 15 years he has been a member and / or Chairman of the Scientific / Steering Committee of hundreds of international conferences and the Scientific Committee of a large number of journals issued by IEEE and other publishing houses. He is a member of the IEEE 5G Initiative, IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) Standards Development Board, IEEE ComSoc Education Services Board, and IEEE Student Branch Advisor at ATEI and Erasmus + / LLP Academic Academic Coordinator. He s got written / edited 8 books and more than 130 research papers that have been published in internationally valid scientific journals and judges conferences. His research work has received over 3300 other reports from other researchers. His current research interests include performance analysis and the standardization of wireless communications networks, the Internet of Things, the 4th Industrial Revolution, vehicle networking and high-volume data.
