HERON is active in electricity production, supply and trading, as well as in natural gas supply and trading in Greece. Having started its operations in 2000, HERON is owned by the GEK TERNA Group, the leader in energy production from conventional and renewable (RES) sources in Greece. HERON was the first private Group to operate in the Greek liberalized electricity market, as well as the first Private Group to operate in the natural gas market in Greece. HERON constructed and has successfully been operating the first private gas-fueled power plant in Greece since 2004.
